ABOUT PROJECT
Reform UK brought in Lobo Media to produce the launch of its local election campaign, held at the Utilita Arena, part of the NEC Group.
Reform UK’s brief focused on highlighting issues tied to local government performance. Aaron Lobo, founder of Lobo Media, worked closely with suppliers to bring that brief to life through a striking, immersive event design. Large physical props were used to recreate elements of ‘Broken Britain’ within the arena, setting the tone for a bold political message.
Visual storytelling played a central role. Using freedom-of-information data provided by Reform UK, we produced animated on-screen graphics that exposed local council spending. Physical props included road signs showing the number of potholes per county, while council debt figures were broadcast across the central arena’s LED basketball screen.
In one of the event’s most memorable moments, party leader Nigel Farage entered the stage in a JCB ‘Pothole Pro’, accompanied by a live orchestral arrangement of his usual walk-on music, a theatrical but on-message arrival.

The event and multi-camera broadcast opened with a 30-minute pre-show hosted by Dr David Bull, streamed across Reform UK’s social media channels to build anticipation and drive engagement. The main 90-minute programme followed, culminating in a crowd-pleasing finale where the Party Leader and MPs launched high-vis jackets into the audience using a T-shirt cannon.
The Metro wrote:
“I’ve never seen anything like this opulent event before – I’m not sure I’ll see something like it again.”
Lobo Media’s integrated team worked alongside Reform UK to manage ticketing, security and policing arrangements, set design, prop procurement, graphic design and print, and the full production running order, delivering the entire event on time and within budget.
